A cross between a butter biscuit and a shortcake, the Abernethy Biscuit was invented by Dr John Abernethy in the 18th century as an aid to digestion.

Ours are made by WFM Brown's Bakery in Westray, and are an ideal accompaniment for cheese, or even our selection of smoked salmon products.

Memories

Relying on a 40 year memory these are very much like biscuits I enjoyed in Shetland which is what I was trying to repeat, they fitted the bill. That aside I found them really enjoyable and the best of 4 types of biscuit I bought. The addition of caraway makes them a winner.
Very good and prompt service and delivery. Many thanks.
